I originally planned to do a simple saxophone and piano arrangement of this theme since I learned and was practicing Therion’s motif as a part of learning the soprano sax. The soprano is definitely harder than the alto sax, and the audio you hear in this video is a result of a nice helping of take editing and timing adjustments. Surprisingly my intonation wasn’t too bad though.
This cover was fun to play, since I basically didn’t plan anything and just sort of improvised the parts (aside from the sax and synth main melody) over the chord progression. So it was fun and simple to make. It’s one of the few single evening recordings I’ve done recently.
