Our journey through the Bestower of Power storyline begins with The One That Lays Waste. Peace across Orsterra shatters when an emissary from the western empire of G’roha declares war on the entire continent, forcing the kingdoms to prepare for a conflict unlike anything they’ve faced before.
Answering Queen Alaune’s call, we travel to Donescu Castle, where the rulers of Orsterra gather to form an alliance against the growing threat. What begins as a council of war quickly becomes a desperate march toward Cyphlo Banks, where the opening battle of the invasion is about to unfold.
As we fight alongside Orsterra’s defenders, we witness the terrifying power of Empress Tatloch, whose arrival proves that G’roha’s invasion is far more dangerous than anyone expected. The battle leaves the allied kingdoms reeling and marks the beginning of a brutal new war for the future of the continent.
With Orsterra united against a common enemy and the conflict only just beginning, The One That Lays Waste launches the Bestower of Power storyline with one of the biggest turning points in the game’s story.
This is my first playthrough of Octopath Traveler 0, so we’re continuing completely blind and experiencing the story, characters, battles, and twists as they unfold.
